Yesterday marked 6 months of being vegan. The picture on the left was taken at the Tate Modern in London about 9 months ago. I was at my unhealthiest (and heaviest as well). The photo on the right was taken today. Becoming vegan has changed my life in so many ways. I have been less prone to migraines, fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis flares. My medication intake has decreased. I have lost over 35 lbs (and no, I’m not hungry). For the first time in 2 years, I am under 200lbs. Although I first adopted veganism as a health experiment, the socioeconomic and ethical reasons have led me to embrace this lifestyle. I want to thank @karatevegan for all of her help, support, and being an all-around amazing friend and @dj_armor for cooking me so many delicious meals, listening to my frustrations, and cheering on my wins. I look forward to becoming more active in the vegan community, advocating this lifestyle, and taking the next step in my personal health journey: being a kick ass vegan athlete!
